Why?
Let's say your program just purchased 50 Target Gift Cards (physical cards). Each gift card is worth $25 dollars. We can create an inventory of Gift Cards for your program so that we can keep track how many gift cards are remaining, how many are given to clients, etc.
Once the inventory is created, staff can select this inventory to distribute gift cards to client by following the "Gift Card Distribution to Client" process in this article.

How to Create Gift Card Inventory for your program?
Item Name: You can put anything here as long as you have at least 1 character. The name will be created and formatted based on a formula set in the automation after you clicked Save.
Is Development?: Program staff should leave this unchecked. This is used by Development Gift Card inventory records.
Vendor: Name of the company issuing the gift card. For example: Amazon, Target, Uber, Walmart, etc.
Program: Look up and select your Program
Managed by: Look up the User who manages this Gift Card inventory in your program. Usually your Program Director.
Initial Quantity: How many Gift Cards in this inventory to start with. Just enter a number without decimal.
Amount (Value): Amount in each Gift Card. If you have gift cards with various amounts, create a new batch for the gift cards with different amount.
Quantity Remaining: Automated field. Do not need to fill in.
After completing the above, click Save.
