The Training/Education Tracker is a type of Workforce Tracker.
The Training/Education tracker is used to track specific details related to the client's placement in training programs, internships (including ECE), apprenticeships, and other education-related placements. ONLY clients who receive a placement(s) are required to have a Training/Education Tracker. Enter a new tracker for each placement.
1. Create a new Training/Education Tracker when the client receives a new placement.
STEP 1: Navigate to the Workforce Tracker and select NEW.
STEP 2: Select Training_or_Education from the list of options, then click NEXT. A new page will pop up with fields specific to your client's placement. Fill out the relevant fields and click SAVE.
Take particular note of the following key fields:
- Training_Education Type: Indicate the type of placement - Student, Training, Apprenticeship, ECE Internship, or Internship (use for all other non-ECE internships.)
- STATUS: Select "Active" to indicate the client is actively participating in the training or education placement. You do not need to update the tracker until the client exits the placement.
- Start Date: Enter the date that the placement began.
- Organization + Program Name: For all placements EXCEPT ECE internships, enter the name of the organization (and program, if applicable).
- Childcare Provider Name: For ECE internships, you will search for the name of the childcare provider or center from the childcare database in CoDa. If you do not find the relevant provider, please submit a helpdesk ticket and the I+L team will add them.
2. Update the Training/Education Tracker when the client exits the program
STEP 1: Navigate to the Workforce Tracker and click on the link to the specific tracker you want to update.
STEP 2: Click on any of the pencil icons to enter the edit mode and update the following fields. When you're done, click SAVE.
- Status - Indicate whether or not the client successfully completed the placement.
- Status Notes - Explain why the client did not complete the placement. You can also use this field to add any additional notes if the client did complete the placement.
- End Date: Enter the date that the placement ended.
