I: What is s a Non-housing Entity?
We define the non-housing entity as a (person, company, organization, etc) who needs to get paid by using the processes in Salesforce, but they aren't a Property Owner or Property Management Company.
II: How to be to create a Non-Housing Entity record
- Use Global Search box to check if the Non-Housing entity record already exists.
When you do a search there may be multiple places where the name you searched for shows up. Make sure the company exists in the Accounts section with the Account Record Type as Non-Housing Entity.
The Development department also uses the Accounts object so there may be several Account records and that doesn't mean its a duplicate if there is only one Non-Housing Entity record.
-
If there is no Non-Housing Entity record found you must create it. Click on the More tab on your Salesforce screen and select the word Accounts.
-
Click on the New button and select Non-Housing Entity and click Next
- Fill out the form and then click Save.
TRACKING ERRORS:
Because of how records were mass upload into Salesforce, sometimes you will see that a Non-Housing Entity exists as a Property Owner. See below for an example of what this will look like.
Please help us clean these up by right-click the mouse at circle 2 (open link in new tab) to open the Metropolitan Bank property owner page on a separate page. In the "Property Owner Name" field, we add "DELETE" at the beginning of the name and then Save. This helps to flag the property owner record as to be deleted when our Salesforce Admin performs a bulk data clean up.
