What is a Property in CoDa?
Property: a property is an Account with "Property" record type, as the image shown below. An "Account" in Salesforce generally refers to a company, an organization or a piece of real estate.
For our purpose, we use Account (record type = Property) to keep track of Property data such as
- Property address
- Property Contact Name
- Property Contact's Email
- Property Contact's phone number, etc.
- Property Owner: points to the "Property Owner" record.
What is a Property Owner?
A property refers to the physical location (an address) where your client is currently housed or going to be housed in. This property usually has a landlord or owner where our Finance team need to send checks to pay for rent. In our Salesforce system, we created "Property Owner" entity to represent "Landlord" or "Owner" to keep track of the property landlord/owner's data.
Some common data that we track in "Property Owner"
- Owner Name
- Owner Vendor ID: used by Finance to issue check
- Owner Type: Individual or Corporate
- Owner Email:
- Owner Address, etc.
